We are always happy to have people interested in volunteering.
We normally have a short orientation every Saturday morning at 8:45am in Shadow Hills. (Rain will normally cancel and we are closed for most major 3-day holiday weekends.) CURRENTLY, due to the Pandemic, we are not holding orientations on Saturdays. If you are new to volunteering, you will be given an orientation on your first day that you sign up, which can be done here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0b4fa4ad29a0fa7-awhvolunteering
Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accompany you to sign some paperwork. (Or have your parent or guardian fill out the form below and bring it with you to orientation.)
Closed-toe shoes (should be comfortable because there is a lot of walking), a shirt with sleeves (T-shirts are fine; no tank tops) and long pants are required. Bringing water is highly recommended. Other days and times available for volunteering will be given at the orientation.
We normally have volunteers assist the instructor with the children and horses, which includes, leading horses and spotting, which is walking alongside the horse to ensure child’s safety and position changes on the horse. Other duties may include: grooming horses, cleaning tack, facility maintenance (such as raking leaves, weeding or picking up rocks), etc.
If you have any other questions or need directions PLEASE CALL 818 – 767 – 6373. If Saturday mornings are not a possibility due to religious obligations or schedule conflicts, please call and we will try and schedule an individual orientation.
