In 1982, I was the philanthropy chair for the La Canada Flintridge Women’s Club, who were raising funds for AHEAD With Horses. I knew nothing of the organization, but after my first visit seeing the disabled children being helped by the wonderful staff using beautiful, gentle horses I was hooked and wanted to do all that I could to help. I have been doing so ever since by volunteering my time in the office, around the grounds and giving speeches to volunteer and donor organizations. I have served on the Board of Directors since 2000 and as president since 2004. I have seen many miracles such as children walking for the first time and hearing them speak their first words. I know these children will continue to develop, improve, grow and become contributing members of society. I am available to speak and show the program to those interested.
