2nd Annual Ride-A-Thon at Sullivan Canyon

Join us for our 2nd Annual Ride-A-Thon at Sullivan Canyon. Just like Giving Tuesday, all donations from the Ride-A-Thon will go to our property development costs, if they are not Sponsoring a Horse or Child.

This new invitation-only event is to show appreciation and honor our large donors, GEM donors, and select volunteers. Timi Brown was a long-time supporter and Board Member of AHEAD With Horses who passed away in December 2021; this event is named in her honor as she was the one who originally envisioned such an event.

As we plan to make this an annual event we hope to inspire more of you to become GEM (Give Every Month) donors, or to start logging those volunteer hours. This year we invited all those who donated 40 hours or more to AHEAD With Horses during the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2022. And of course we appreciate our Major Donors as well – those who gave large lump sums, or cumulatively gave a large amount last Fiscal Year. Our program relies on all of these committed supporters in order to be successful.

Ride (or walk) 10 laps around the field anytime from Sunday, Nov. 28 to Saturday, Dec. 4th, 2021.
Live Event on Saturday 12/4/21 at 11:30am by the Sycamore Turn Out and Old Oak Gate.
Suggested Amount for Registration is $25 and Includes lunch & a reusable water bottle.

40th Annual Children’s Virtual Demonstration and Fun Day

While the 40th Annual Children’s Demonstration and Fun Day might look a little different this year, we’re thrilled to be able to host it in a virtual, safe way for our children to showcase their riding skills and achievements. At this year’s event we will have entertainment by singers and dancers throughout, brand new AWH t-shirts for sale, as well as some words from our Leadership.

August Boredom Buster Scavenger Hunt

We know that everyone has been spending a lot more time at home, so why not have some fun with it!

With that, we’d like to introduce our AHEAD With Horses-themed scavenger hunt. Here’s how it works:

• Review the scavenger hunt scorecard. You’ll notice there are 7 types of items for you to find in your home.
• Each item has a value. Tally up each item’s score as you go.
• Once you have a total dollar value, you can either post your scorecard to social media and tag AWH
• OR you can donate that amount to AWH. All proceeds support our program and our beloved therapy horses.

Fun Day 2020

May 16 2020, 12 PM

We had scheduled our 39th Annual Children’s Demonstration and Fun Day for May 16, 2020. Unfortunately, our event has been postponed due to COVID-19. Since we cannot have the event in person, we decided to still hold a Virtual Demonstration by the children.

On May 16th at noon, we will be hosting our first ever Virtual Fun Day Demonstration on Facebook. We will have some live videos and share individual posts for each child that include pictures of our students and what they can do while on a horse. We will also be accepting donations to keep the program running.

If you are a parent of a child in the program: We ask that you email aheadwithhorses@yahoo.com your favorite picture(s) of your child on the horse and any information you are comfortable with us sharing online. (This could be name, diagnosis, what their favorite horse is, what their favorite part about AWH is, how the program has improved their life, etc.) If you do not have any pictures, let us know and we can use ones that we have taken over the past years (if available).
