Hollywood Charity Horse Show Needs Volunteers

We were contacted by the amazing people who help put on the Hollywood Charity Horse Show (HCHS) that takes place at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank every year. The HCHS is an amazing event put on by William Shatner to benefit a number of worthy charities, including AHEAD With Horses. They reached out because they are still in need of a few helpers to put the event on next Saturday 5/31/25

They are looking to find 5 to 7 strong men or women who would be willing to help with the stage set-up and tear down for the evening performance. They always struggle finding volunteers that are fit and capable to do this job. Volunteers would be directed by the stage crew so no experience is needed other than the physical aspect of unloading equipment, carrying heavy objects, setting up bulky stage components, etc.. It is a hot, sweaty, thankless job but a critical component of making this event run smoothly and effectively.

The time for set up is 7:00 a.m. until about 12:00 p.m., maybe finishing even sooner like 10:00 a.m. The tear down would be from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., at the latest 12:00 a.m. The volunteers will be taken care of. They will be fed for lunch and dinner, with drinks and snacks all day long. They will even purchase breakfast for volunteers if needed. We realize that this is a last minute request and that they are asking for a lot, but we were hoping that some of our amazing AWH volunteers would be willing to help them out.

If you would not be suitable for the stage set-up / tear down, but still would be interested in helping, they also need volunteers for the dining room set-up, which is a lot less strenuous. That would take place between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. They would like to have 5 or so people to help with that. Of course they would be fed both lunch and dinner and have access to snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Thank you in advance for taking time to consider the request.  Please contact Daryl Curtis, their volunteer coordinator at volunteersHCHS@yahoo.com or (661) 747-0769 with any questions or to submit the required volunteer form.

Thank you,

AHEAD With Horses Inc.
