Possible Large Projects

Major Purchases

  • New office trailer (at least 30’ long, preferably 40 feet)
  • Utility cart or gator
  • Storage Shed (wood or heavy-duty plastic preferred, such as a tough shed).
  • New shade awnings for Fun Day (pop up tents at least 8’ x 8’ or larger)
  • Purchase new picnic tables.

Projects

  • Mural for back and/or sides of one of the storage units or the tack room; possibly one being a “Memorial Wall”.
  • Make a heavy-duty work bench with a vice (for when having to work on plumbing and other projects around the ranch.)
  • Create better storage for all our rakes, shovels, & other tools (&/or purchase new tools).
  • Fix the door on our helmet storage or create a new helmet storage container.
  • Install solar panels for electricity in the office and additional lights in the barn.
  • Lights for arena (must be solar powered).
  • Raised garden(s).
  • Create an additional bulletin board(s).
  • Sand and repaint directional sign and create new directional sign(s)
  • Create a mount for new mailbox at front of the new property (Mailbox has already been donated).
  • Create new Game Booths for Fun Day; i.e. Disc drop game or spin the wheel game or big round “pizza” with toppings to throw on it, or a round face or Pumpkin that goes on the floor and throw bean bags shaped like lips, eyes, ears, nose to throw on it.
  • Make new sandwich Board signs pointing to our location for Fun Day & other big events.
  • Make photo Op Props (mural boards that have cut outs to put your head in, maybe a cowboy, cowgirl, sheriff, horse, cat or jack-o-lantern for Fun Day or Halloween, etc.)
  • Basketball hoop to go at the edge of the lesson arena with long net to collect balls.
  • Make or buy Emergency IDs for horses.
  • Create a space for our practice barrel.
  • Sand and re-seal benches (needs to be done yearly)
  • Sand and re-stain/paint our poles for the ring and pole game.
  • Make more moveable posts (normally done out of paint cans filled with cement and a plastic 5 foot pipe with a cap on the top).
  • Make an owl box or hawk perch to help with rodent problem. (Could have more than one on the property.)

Projects

  • Fix current fence around Lake View Terrace property:
    • Add a stabilizing bar at the top of the chain link fence (at least for the front of the property).
    • Sections of fence that are folded over or have holes need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Privacy slats for chain link fence (purchase and install)
  • Create mounting ramp at new property.
  • Help build new horse stalls once driveways are completed.
  • Make cement foundations to go under the office and storage sheds.


Landscaping at new property

  • Acquire and plant new trees on the property (prefer fruitless mulberry, Tristania conferta, crepe myrtle, cottonwood, sycamore, camellia and other native, drought resistant ones that are hard to kill and safe around horses)
  • Landscaping at new property (will have multiple areas including by parking lot, around the arena, near the office, possibly near horse stalls, sensory garden, etc.)
  • Check and fix any holes in the drip system.
  • Help with weed clearance for Fire Safety (annual project)
  • Help stabilize the hill and the path up it at new property.


Relocation Help

  • Know someone who welds and can help us dismantle and put back together our cross ties and our large shade awning when we move.
  • Help pack and move everything from old facility to new facility (when we actually move).
  • Know of anyone that can move a 20-foot or 40-foot storage container.
