On August 17th, we gathered for a very special afternoon—Timi’s Tea—a tradition named in honor of former board member Timi, whose vision brought this event to life. With delicious refreshments, warm conversations, and a spirit of gratitude, we celebrated the incredible people who keep AHEAD With Horses moving forward.
Invited guests included our generous major donors, our dedicated GEM (Give Every Month) donors, and the many volunteers who gave more than 30 hours of their time during the past fiscal year. Each guest’s presence was a reminder of the compassion, dedication, and generosity that make our mission possible.
This year, we proudly recognized volunteers who went above and beyond, giving more than 100 hours of service. Though not all could attend in person, we honor and thank: Alex Aguilar, Lisa Baragosh, Denise Barnes, Judy Beem, Julie Casey, Gloryann Cosans, Pam Currie, Ryan Glovna, Nancy Kenyon, Arline Latino, Judi Lohne, Kathleen Meyer, Floyd Newman, Cesera Suarez, and Stephanie Sheinberg.
Their dedication strengthens not only our program but also the bond between our horses and students.
Each year, we also present the Volunteer Extraordinaire award to an individual who demonstrates extraordinary commitment. This year, for the first time, the honor was awarded to a team: mother and son duo Alex Aguilar and Judi Lohne. Nearly every day, they arrive with smiles on their faces, faithfully mucking stalls, caring for our horses, and even stepping in to help with feedings during vacation coverage. Their unwavering kindness and consistency embody the true spirit of volunteerism.
We are deeply grateful to every volunteer and donor who gives so generously of their time, resources, and heart. You are the reason our students can Ride, Smile, and Grow.
